Last year we tripled our team size, and this year despite all the challenges we are doing it again! In fact given the current challenges our work has become all the more meaningful and relevant. 

 

About You

To help us achieve our vision, we are looking for an experienced and visionary Mechanical Engineer who will push the boundaries of plastic component design to support our endeavours to deliver life changing logistics. Our ideal candidate will see engineering as much more than just their job, it will be your passion. You will have a curious mindset and be eager to contribute to all areas of our technology, grow your understanding of all elements of our system, whilst also contributing to long-term, company-wide technical goals.

You will be a self-starter, one who is able to collaborate with others in a cross functional team environment. Effectively working to tight deadlines, maintain high quality outputs, and apply a “Roll up your sleeve” attitude to getting things done. You will be fiercely passionate about all things Engineering and Robotics, love bringing new products to life and excel at driving, conceptualising and validating ideas. About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the best minds to engineer and deploy a next generation light weight plastic & electric autonomous aircraft that will transform access to healthcare across the world. As a Swoop Aero Mechanical Engineer you will collaborate with a highly passionate and innovative team in order to develop core structural and component designs ready for manufacturing as part of our air transportation system, which will be one of the first globally to be certification ready.

As a key member of the technology team you will drive the transformation of Swoop Aero’s structural and component development capabilities. We will clear the path of red tape and empower you to take charge and lead the product design and implementation of new prototypes. You will proactively define problems, analyse root causes and develop solutions. This position will see you play a criterial role in developing technology that can provide access to healthcare to the people who need it most.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, documentation and testing of all mechanical assemblies within our technology stack
  • Consider the performance of the entire system and drive optimisations across all elements of the air transportation system.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes and procedures are optimised for cost, quality and delivery
  • Advocate for design changes that will improve customer outcomes
  • Oversee and participate in projects as needed in order to support Swoop Aero’s business objectives
  • Liaise with external partners to design and source the manufacture of complex sub – assemblies
  • Manage supply chain of internally manufactured parts and subassemblies
  • Facilitate all production meetings and report on progress
  • Complete design and development projects by training and guiding other team members
  • Manage relationships and build rapport with external suppliers
  • Work proactively to solve complex problems, mitigate for risks and contribute to an inclusive, productive team environment
  • Evaluate and verify issues discovered, log defects appropriately
  • Test and validate new system wide improvements


Desired experience

  • Experience with design and simulation of aerodynamic assemblies
  • Experience with injection moulded tool design and mould flow simulation


Required experience

  • A Bachelor Degree in a relevant engineering field, or combination of relevant coursework and experience.
  • Advanced SOLIDWORKS knowledge
  • Experience with injection moulded plastics
  • A minimum of three – five years diverse professional engineering experience
  • A demonstrated passion for everything engineering and robotics
  • Working Right in Australia or a Visa pathway

Full Stack Developer

The situation and the role

So what next? With our experience and venture backing, we’re working to build our global team and expand operations across multiple markets. To help us achieve our vision, we’re looking for a talented Full Stack Developer. Working closely with the Chief Architect in a small, agile DevOps team you will work across the full technology stack. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing new software to provide the business with the technological advantage. You’ll manage your own projects, be really involved in the business and create genuine impact for millions of people around the globe.

 

About you

To be perfect for this role you’ll need to be a switched on full stack developer, capable of understanding the business requirements and an expert problem solver who utilises their expertise to make things happen. You will have experience in serverless development, ideally on AWS, and have an in-depth understanding of the core tool sets available to build out and manage a solution. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the full system, but will also hold a core strength that may range from DevOps to automated testing, or frontend development and design. Responsibilities

  • Developing and supporting the existing Swoop systems to a high-quality to meet our strictly regulated Aviation sector.
  • Maintain testing frameworks and documentation of systems in support of our Aviation Regulation Compliance
  • Working with our Chief Architect and the Operations team to understand and develop systems and features to support them.
  • Working between the hardware team and the overall technical team on end to end product development. 
  • Proactively seek ways to use technology to increase the effectiveness, performance, usability of our product to support both customers and internal staff operations
  • Be responsible for Software engineering best practices including code test coverage, appropriate modularisation, designing cohesive interfaces and making the calls on technical trade-offs
  • Mentor colleagues, develop processes and grow others within Swoop.

Required experience

  • AWS Serverless Development Methodologies
  • CI/CD with automated testing.
  • NodeJS
  • RDBMS – Postgres
  • NoSQL Databases (DynamoDB)
  • Development with both REST and WebSockets based API’s
  • ReactJS
  • Basic experience with GeoSpatial data or frontend tools like leaflet/openlayers

To help us achieve our vision, we’re looking for a Marketing Manager. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer this will be a pivotal role in scaling our sales and marketing engine. You will help craft the narrative that explains the purpose of the business, sharing our passion for creating genuine impact with key stakeholders, partners and the wider community. We envision this role to lead the growth of all digital channels, public and media relations, brand promotion, market analysis, strategy and positioning. You will collaborate with all commercial team members sharing responsibilities for strategy and execution, your ability to deliver multiple projects effectively and efficiently will be the key to your success in this role.

 

About you

You will have strategic vision, marketing savvy, strong communications skills and a passion for execution. As an ambitious, all round marketing star you will have a proven track record of deeply understanding and driving the key metrics and digital channels that lead to revenue and business growth. Your talent for abstract thinking and problem solving will allow you to carry out multiple streams of work with tenacity and purpose in a close knit, impact driven team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop marketing and communication strategy, managing the implementation of all elements
  • Responsible for the entire marketing process, including website development and SEO, advertisements, inbound lead generation, social media and email marketing campaigns.
  • Responsible for owning the entire digital marketing strategy, process, implementation, budget, and platform subscription management.
  • Design and develop graphic communications across the website, EDM, social media, paid media, events, materials and print
  • Develop a deep understanding of our technology and market inside out to lead the full marketing & creative process
  • Monitor competitor creatives, industry trends, and creative best practices across the industry
  • Develop a pipeline a PR stories, write media releases and drive public and media relations

 

Required experience

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

· 3 – 4 years’ prior industry related industry experience
