Swoop Aero is dedicated to changing how the world moves. Our HQ is a space where engineers build aircraft alongside technology architects, operations managers, and marketers.
In our new team profile series, Humans of Swoop Aero, we’re introducing you to the incredible individuals who work to tackle seemingly insurmountable challenges, create nuanced strategy, and deploy our ground-breaking technology to positively impact millions of people’s lives every day.
As CCO, Sabrina Ravail takes a leadership role at Swoop Aero, and plays a pivotal role in growth including partnerships, accounts, communication and business development.
“A typical day does not exist at Swoop, and that is what I love. I often start looking for answers that are waiting to be found, making each day unpredictable and rewarding. I can start the day with a client call, move on to interact with government officials and civil society organisations, and negotiate, implement, and plan partnerships before working on a press release.”
Sabrina has worked in operational, marketing and business development positions for-profit- and impact-driven organisations in the tech, health and retail sectors roles for over a decade in multinational companies ranging from Revlon, Lorna Jane to Porsche Design.
“My practical skills are complemented by an advanced theoretical understanding of business and broader market trends,” says Sabrina, “I hold a Bachelor and Master in Commerce and International Business Management (MBA). I also hold a postgraduate Diploma in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge and a RePL delivered by CASA.”
During the refugee crisis, Sabrina founded an NGO working closely with Germany’s Ministry of Interior with funding from George Soros’s Open Society Foundation and lectured marketing and strategy at the University Paris South. Before moving to Australia, Sabrina also co-founded an organisation to lobby the Ministry of Health to prescribe sport as medicine, which has become a reality. Her drive to make a positive impact is what led Sabrina to Swoop Aero.
“I love working towards creating positive outcomes in the communities we operate in. I take pride in being part of an amazing team of doers and achievers. I enjoy driving change both within and outside of the organisation, creating opportunities that did not exist before and making access to medical supplies easier than ever before.
“We’re part of an industry creating the future of logistics, and we’re one of a handful of companies able to do what we do. It is exciting to grow professionally and personally at such a fast pace. Looking back at 2019, when I joined Swoop Aero, I am proud of what we achieved and am excited at the plans ahead of us. I love being part of a team that drives positive and safe outcomes for communities through air logistics. Most importantly however, I love being part of a team that makes the impossible possible.”
